My sister's getting engaged NYE! Ack!

Her boyfriend called me last night as I'm holding the heirloom ring that he will need to create the engagement ring. I can't tell anyone in real life so I'm just getting it off my chest here! So excited!

Isn't it a little late to get a ring made for NYE? I was engaged around Christmas and it took my DH 3 weeks just to have it sized for me before he proposed. They're very backlogged this time of year.

OP here. Maybe my sister's name really is Cathy...

It's not too late- the setting is sized and ready go to- they just need the stone from the old ring and will set it the same day I bring it to them. But otherwise, yeah, not a good time of the year to have a ring done right before you need it.

My DH and I got engaged on NYE. In our pajamas, on the couch, tipsy after too much bubbly earlier in the night watching football. We made cheese burgers for dinner that night, so now we always have cheese burgers on the 31st.

It makes every NYE special now! Even though we pretty much never go out. Or make it until midnight (thanks toddler).

OK how is it that DCUM is excited for a sister getting engaged but not excited for the pregnant woman over on expectant moms. She got told that getting pregnant is not an accomplishment and that any asshole could do it.
