Concern for University Park Elementary School's 2015 PARCC scores is prompting us to consider private school for 2 kids. Before doing so, would like to sense of how its students perform on standardized testing (or private school equiv of same). I'm finding this sort of data hard to come by. Any thoughts or ideas on how to research a particular private school's performance? Probably private schools short drive from UP, so possibly St. Jerome's, Holy Redeemer, etc.

| Score were horrible across the state. It's a decent school, not horrible not world class. The locals seem to enjoy it, ur child will get a decent education while attending. I would not take the New test scores as a accurate indication of anything honestly. Some schools had good scores for years until they develop this new test now all of a sudden half the kids are now idiots? Lol |
| Woah. You're really jumping the gun here. Take a deep breath. Are your kids happy and learning at UPES? Leave it be then. |
| OP here - good points re. new test and possibly jumping the gun. I'll take a breather, but would still be interested in learning more about performance of the local, private schools. Do they do any better by the students, academically? General questions like that are what I'm hoping to find the answers to. Thanks! |

OP, public school and private school kids don't take the same tests. So it is really hard to make any kind of meaningful comparison based on test scores.
In fact one reason people seem to like public schools is that their kids don't have to take the public school tests! |
