The Trump Women and their Fashion Mishaps - Part Three

I don't like Melania but i think the problem with her dress is the setting. it looks ok in the close up pics just in the context of the room it looks awkward like a time traveler dropped in from the '80s. also liked her hat better than camila's side ways blue with hat

She may be possibly trying to make a mockery of the U.K. and the royal family, it seems. With all the money and expert stylists - it’s possible these have been chosen to be outfits to offend the norm and clash. It’s hard to understand the repeated offenses in another context. Perhaps luggage was misplaced?

Good? I'm not her press, lol, I've never voted for her husband in my life, but I really don't care if the Brits find it "mocking" that an American wore a long sleeved gown to a state dinner. She's not in stripper clothes FFS.

Not to be nasty but it's amazing how much better looking even our trashiest rich family is compared to the British royals. Kate is an outlier; most British women are not that beautiful. Meghan is also beautiful but they can't claim her, she's ours. Hell, even Diana had American grandparents.

Just goes to show, even when we're down and out (and we're down bad right now) at least we aren't British?

You're comparing her to a woman who is at least 20 years older than her. There are a LOT of beautiful British women of all ages out there. Cate Blanchett, Judi Dench, Kiera Knightly, Emma Watson, Emilia Clarke, Helen Mirren, Emma Thompson, etc.

Reminds me of in the 70s when Martha Mitchell refused to curtsey to the Queen (which is perfectly correct by etiquette standards, I didn't see Melania curtsey today) and the Brits went wild. They truly think the rest of us need to kiss their ass, meanwhile they couldn't find their way out of a wet paper bag in WW2 until we showed up.

No one on Air Force One misplaced her luggage. SHe's not flying Spirit Air. She has a massive taxpayer funded entourage catering to her needs.

They're not mocking that she wore a long sleeved gown (Kate and Camila did too.) They're mocking that she wore a weird ill-fitting yellow dress that resembled a banana. I didn't see criticism that she was insufficiently covered up.

The dress looks better in this shot, really rich and complementary to Camillas dress and the bits of red and gold in the room. However the belt stands out as looking even worse here because it's so incongruous. If the belt were just the same yellow as the dress, I think people would like it a lot more. It just doesn't work in that shade.

I agree. I happen to like this dress and the way it looks on her, but the color of the belt is wrong.

I know you think you sound snobby here, but in reality, you just sound dumb.

WTF did I just read...? No one is trying to make a mockery of the UK/royal family. How completely bizarre to even suggest this.

When I first glanced at this picture it seemed like the belt was skin tone.

I actually had that same reaction to the first photo from a greater distance. Like a second of "oh my god is she doing a bare midriff at Buckingham Palace???" before I realized it was a belt.

I really wish we could see the shoes.

I keep seeing this but politely disagree with you all! I think a spring yellow is like a daffodil or a butter...lighter, more creamy, pale. This is saturated and reads as a late summer/early fall yellow to me.

Completely agree. This is no pale, spring, pastel yellow. It's a deep, vibrant yellow/gold and perfect for late summer/early fall.

Right. When I think of "spring yellow" I think of the yellow dress she actually wore to the last UK state dinner:

That's a spring yellow!

Does anyone know who designed this beautiful dress? It's absolutely lovely.

That is *gorgeous*! I don't think I ever saw this one, thanks for posting!

I know, that was my point. It's floor length and long sleeves. It's modest and not disrespectful.

If they don't like it they can get over themselves.

https://www.dailymail.co.uk/femail/article-15108773/amp/melania-trump-yellow-dress-uk-state-dinner.html

Melania Trump's bright yellow dress has been branded 'ridiculous' by some unimpressed social media users, who also likened her outfit to a banana.

Accompanied by her husband, President Donald Trump, Melania stepped out in an off the shoulder number.

She accessorized the dress with a chunky baby pink belt and huge emerald earrings.

The look failed to land social media users though, who were quick to slate it online.

Taking to X one simply said: 'Melania's dress - not impressed.'

'Melania, what's going on? What's happening?' asked another.

'Omg,' a third posted. 'Melania's dress is hideous! She looks like a giant Easter egg or something in that canary yellow with the purple belt.'
A fourth continued: 'Why did Melania dress like a banana?'

It’s almost like they are quoting DCUM!
