Kaiser - straight to IVF??

Anonymous
We got our diagnosis and IUI would be a waste of time
We need IVF with ICSI because of a very low sperm count
Kaiser plan language appears to require an IUI first
Has anyone been allowed to go straight to IVF or been told that they can go straight to IVF?

I just finished at Kaiser. We had to try IUI 3x and I think that's what I read. We didn't have low sperm count though. I would ask Shady Grove. They seemed to know what was required by Kaiser.

Interesting. I wonder if this would be required if one was going for #2 after having to do IVF to get #1?

If the diagnosis is MFI you should be able to proceed straight to IVF. At least that's what we did with MD IPA. Our RE told us IUI would be a waste.

I was diagnosed with endometriosis and was allowed to go straight to IVF.

I was diagnosed with hydrosalpinges (fluid in both tubes) by my Kaiser OB/GYN. Had tubes removed and then went straight to IVF.

Yes. I was. I was diagnosed with endometriosis and changed my insurance to Kaiser knowing that I will need to do IVF.
