Which doctor at Children's do you recommend for neuropsych?

We have a 6yo DC who we think needs to be assessed for ADHD-inattentive type. We'd like to go to Children's, because we think our insurance may cover some of it there. Has anyone had good experiences with any of the doctors there for this purpose?
Thanks very much.

Lauren Kenworthy. She is FABULOUS. You may get one of her post-docs doing portions of the testing, but the report you receive will be top-notch, well respected by your school and other providers, and most of the cost may be covered by insurance (ours was about 80% covered by United). Don't be put off by the fact that much of her research is on autism. She's doing some really interesting research applicable to a lot of learning disability diagnoses.

We had a very positive experience with Jacqueline Sanz. The report was excellent and very clear, and my DH and I learned a ton from our 1:1 with her about child development, current research, etc.

We got Dr. Raza. She was good. We didn't get to choose. They schedule it for you.

Ditto on Dr Sanz. She did 2 of my kids and is about to do #3. You can make a request but it might mean a longer wait. Dr Sanz has a great personality and is very good about turning around reports quickly. She has always been willing to talk to me on the phone when a question/concern arose. She was even willing to go to bat for us by calling into an IEP meeting which made ALL the difference for my dysgraphic son.

+2 on Dr. Sanz. She evaluated our son this past winter. She was very thorough, also called into an IEP meeting, and has a wonderful personality. Insurance covered almost the entire cost of the testing.

new poster here. do you need a referral from the pediatrician in order to schedule this visit? Because I have a strong suspicsion that my dd has ADHD, though I have found the ped to me more or less useless on that score.

also, i see that many of these providers are PHD neurospychologists. Would they also be capable of detecting and treating anxiety? I think this is in play as well.

Thanks.

My insurance didn't require a referral but some do. Call your insurer first. And, yes, they can diagnose anxiety. That was the most notable finding in my DD's neuropsych evaluation.
