Virus?

Hi Jeff,
I was on the site looking at the Recent Topics and a file went to my downloads on its own. I didn't open it but it was a text file titled Match. My husband thinks it's a virus, so just wanted to let you know so you can check it out.

This is Jeff. I can't login at the moment, so I'm replying anonymously. It could be a virus that was delivered through an ad network. I have no way of knowing without having the file. That would be very unusual, though not impossible. I don't know of a case of it happening previously. I have occasionally had a file downloaded in a manner similar to what you describe. However, it was a harmless text file that was downloaded as a result of a misconfigured ad (misconfigured by the network). If either you or your husband wants to explore the file a bit, I can offer some guidance. You'll have to tell me what operating system you are using (Windows, Mac. etc.).

I had the same thing, deleted it immediately.
