Expired frozen smoke salmon

It expired in april but its been frozen since before then. Toss?

You mean it was a refrigerated item that you put in the freezer sometime before the expiration date? It's fine to eat.

Frozen food keeps indefinitely as long as it stays frozen. There might be a loss of quality after a few months but it will never go bad.

Unless it has white areas from freezer burn, it should be safe and taste fine. If he won't eat it, more for you! I'd eat it within a few days of defrosting since it probably does not have preservatives.

I'd eat it within a few days of defrosting too. But smoked salmon has plenty of preservatives - salt!

What is freezer burn, why is is bad for you? Can you just scrape it off?
