What is the rule on refrigerating follistism or gonal-f?????

Since I will be ordering through the mail how I do I insure it is kept on ice prior to me receiving it?????? If I order from the pharmacy, how do I ensure it is being refrigerated prior to me picking it up???

Don't panic. Pharmacies know how to handle these things -you don't have to instruct them to do anything -there are many medications that require refrigeration. If it is mailed to you, it will most likely come packaged in dry ice or something similar. If you are really concerned, see if it can be delivered to your doctor's office. I used Bravelle (which did not require refrigeration), but the trigger shot and microdose lupron did. I had no problems.

Concur with previous poster. Pharmacies know how to handle this. When I ordered my meds via mail, the items that required refrigeration came in a special cold pack. You will need to be home to sign for the package. FYI -- When I used Gonal-F and Follistim, I used powdered versions that did not require refrigeration -- you just reconstituted for each shot.

I ended up ordering my meds from two different places and then picked up one vial locally. I never even had to even ask about refrigeration because it was automatically done. Most of the places that carry these meds specialize in fertility meds and have this down! I promise you really don't have to worry about this aspect of your fertility treatment! (Which was a good thing in my case, it gave my brain a little space of calm in the midst of everything.)

It actually doesn't require refrigeration if you use it within 30 days. FedEx lost my package from Freedom pharmacy for 3 days and the pharmacy and my RE said the meds would be fine for me to use.

I received three months worth of meds from my insurance. They arrived at UPS in styrofoam coolers with dry ice. I had UPS hold the packages and picked them up after hours at their facility in Largo/Lanham. Because I had three months worth of meds, I had three rather large boxes.
