Wintergreen?

| Wisp! Put them in the full day program and they'll learn to ski and love it! We did this and we all had fun skiing. Whatever you do, do not try to teach them yourselves. I can't tell you how many crying little kids with yelling and frustrated parents I've seen. The ski counsellors take them inside very often, feed them, have them use the bathroom. It's really great. | Whitetail - great programs for kids and also better beginner setup / terrain than Wisp. Wisp is a nice resort as long as weather isn't frigid (always check beforehand). |

Beginners?
For the day: Liberty or White Tail (Liberty if Mom and Dad want a drink slope side - White Tail is dry!) Weekend: Wisp - get a room in lodge - not luxe but convenient to slopes and you can get suite with kitchenette Looong weekend: Snowshoe. Best ski resort in Mid-Atlantic. Can rent Condo. But it's five hour drive so you need a four day weekend at least. |
I would completely agree with this poster. Now that my kids are experienced, we go to Snowshoe. Have stayed in Soaring Eagle and it's nice, but there are lots of options available. I would start with day trips though to see if the kids like it and build up some stamina. |
| Liberty - take a 2 hour lesson. Whitetail is great too, but you have to do a 1/2 day lesson at least. |
