Hi all!
Anyone with a specific hotel or resort to recommend that is warm in March and family friendly? Direct flight from DCA and short trip from airport would all be a plus. Looking for a relaxing place to go with young children. Thinking about Caribbean but don't know where to start looking. Any advice from seasoned travelers with your kids welcome. Thanks. |
| Sanibel FL but be prepared to pay top dollar for flights and housing as that is high season. |

The thing about March is that it's spring break for everyone in kindergarten through college. I would recommend paying more for a destination that gets you around the crowds. We very much liked the Ritz Carlton in Cancun for this. Fifteen minutes from the airport, we got a package deal that included breakfast and siesta meals, and just never left the hotel for a week.
A friend raves about Turks and Caicos as having a private island feel - no crowds and you can bike or walk to many places. If you want a shorter trip, we like the Hilton Beach Resort in Ft. Lauderdale. Two hour plane ride, fifteen minutes from the airport. Most of the rooms are suites. The hotel can get pretty busy, but it's huge with indoor and outdoor pools and you could almost never leave. Ft Lauderdale isn't the spring break destination it used to be and the beach is wide open with no crowds. My only complaint is that the food is not great. |
| Aruba or Grand Cayman. Both safe and kid friendly. Aruba is more walkable. Our kids love both. Nonstops to both from DC. |
| Marco Island. Fly to Ft Myers. Kids loved it. |

Thanks everyone! Any specific websites or hotels to recommend? So many places pop up on sites like trip advisor it is tough to slog through them all. Any tips on specific hotels or resorts much appreciated. Basically just looking for easy beach vacation in March for young family.

| Aruba had a million little kids. A little crowded for us but nice and safe. |
| March is dicey weather wise in FL. If warmth is a must, go to the Caribbean or wait until April. |
