Recommendation for a good MP3 player for 11 years old

Anonymous
My daughter wants a MP3 player for Christmas. Apple iPod is too pricy. Any suggestion for a good reliable MP3 player? I never had one myself. Many thanks.

She doesn't want an MP3 player. She wants an iPod. You are falling in the same trap parents always do. You hear "Gameboy" but think "handheld video game". You hear "iPhone" but buy "a smartphone from Google". If you can't afford a $149 iPod then just wait until you can.

If you don't want to do an apple product, then the Sansa Clip is a nice little MP3 player.

You do know some people never can afford that, so be nice.

OP. I would just ask your daughter. Let her know the budget and ask.

You sound charming. Our six year old wanted one. We gave him a 8 year old shuffle. Happy kid. Not everyone wants an iPod. He just wanted it for music.

OP, you can get a shuffle for $50 or a nano for $150 I think. Target and other places may have them on sale today. Or, some of the other brands are probably fine too.
