| They're liberal, we're liberal, but I really don't want to talk about fucking Donald Trump and what an idiot he is for the next five days. SHUT UP ALREADY. I've tried changing the topic but it always comes back to politics. They come over and all they want to watch is MSNBC the whole time. This is not unusual for when they visit (monthly for 2-3 days - I'm so sick of them). Not asking for advice, just venting. Shut up Rachel Maddow. I love you, but shut up. |

I straight up told my FIL he was rude when he wore a Sanders button to a wedding. He said, "It's just a conversation piece."
I said, "The conversation should be about Karen and Brian today, not you pulling focus with your political views." I'm a Democrat, but I think loonies on both sides of the aisle are equally obnoxious. |

Yes, we're pretty moderate. But I come off as a near Tea Party member when talking with my ultra-liberal in-laws. And then we look like we are complete socialists when we visit my family. |

Ha. You sound like Jackie Gleason. I am retired. But, conversation at our house is not about politics (it comes up occasionally, but just in passing). Perhaps these retired in-laws are less active and don’t do much other than watch their liberal/conservative media shows so they have little to talk about. See if you can get them out and about to give them experiences to discuss........ |
