Traveling to Europe with an Infant

Anonymous
This is the first time we're traveling with an infant. We plan on taking a bunch of the Enfamil individual packets. Can we go through security with a bunch of the individual formula packets or is there a limit to how many you can take. They don't let you take water through security. Do you just buy a couple bottles of water once you cross security?

Do they have changing tables on the airplanes?

Any additional advise would be appreciated.

You can take as much powdered formula as you want.

Buy the water after you get through security. Don't use airplane water, which is dirty.

On international flights, there is a fold-down changing table over the toilets (usually) where you can change the baby.

Take several changes of clothing for your baby (and at least a different shirt for you) in case of accidents, vomit, etc. You don't want to sit for hours on a flight after baby threw up on you. Make it a variety of clothes to allow for temperature changes on the plane too. Sometimes it's hot, sometimes chilly.

I pack 1/3 more diapers than I think I need, because you can get delayed with layovers or even just sitting on the plane.

I take a mini first aid kit with me, including baby tylenol and thermometer and saline spray for baby's nose. You have to declare fluids at security. Keep them all separate in their own zip lock bag.

Lots of extra wipes, hand sanitizer, etc. to wipe down changing table, clean up little spills.

Have fun. Personally I think it's way easier travelling with an infant than with a toddler, so enjoy.
