My job is on indeed but I haven't been let go

Today my company posted my position on indeed. I found out because my boss mentioned it in passing. He told me they are hiring a second person so there will be two of us in the same position. I'm not convinced. Great way to start off a holiday weekend

What is indeed?

Has there been no mention of expanding your department or anything like that? You are right that this isn't good. I'm sorry.

At least he mentioned it. I found out I was being let go when someone called about a job that sounded just like mine (with more, new stuff added on), and I emailed the message to my boss. His response: "Uh.. oh... ummm... can you stay a little late today so we can talk?"

He's warning you, OP. Listen to it.

Have you burned any bridges, OP?

It could be possible they're adding another position.

If they were trying to get rid of you quietly, why would your boss tell you about the posting?

My DH used to manage a few big government contracts. When they had an issue with a person. They put out what he called a "trolling rec" online to figure out how hard/expensive a replacement would be.

OP sounds like you will be gone before Christmas. Start looking for something new. Been there. Done that.

Sorry OP.

It is okay as long as he is not suspending you. Have you signed any kind of agreement with your company? Check out if any policy related to your post you missed to read.

Don't jump to conclusions yet OP, maybe they are in fact hiring another person for the position. Sometimes the workload is too much for one person.

Is there enough work for two people?

My thought as well. I guess there's a first for everything, but I've never seen a boss so bold to do something like that.
