The first season was awesome - great storylines, witty, and incredibly fun and creative. The Airstream full of weapons, the imaginative Wesen, all the weapons and potions, and lots of the Captain and Monroe! The whole royals saga was OK for awhile, though not as good as the more episodic early Grimm...but OK.
Now, I find my once-favorite show so blah and slow and ponderous. Does it have a new show runner this year? What happened!? |
| agreed. but I am still watching it. |
|
I think the weird relationship with Nick and blond wesen name escaping me is insane and completely unbelievable. Even for this show. She was a crazy ass bad guy! Terrible, how can they try to change that all. And oh, who was Juliet? Let's put in a few small tokens of dialogue now, but she was such a cruel character at the end no one will care she is gone...ooooook.
Stupid. |
|
They seem to be introducing a new dynamic, so I'm sticking with it to see if that takes off. I still think it has potential to get really good again.
I do have to say that I thought they could have done much better with Juliette... sadly I'm not really going to miss her character (OTOH, she could have made a fantastic villain to juxtapose Adalaide (blonde wessen)) |
| I stopped watching when Juliette started getting more air time. Hated her. Didn't like her interaction with Nick. |
|
Agree, OP. They haven't advanced the part of story line that's actually interesting: what's going on with Trubel, the Resistance, etc. Every wessen attacks people in the same way now, unlike in previous seasons where they seemed to get much more creative with it. And I'm still not convinced that Juliette is actually dead. Did they kill her off just to develop a story line with Nick and Adaline being a couple? Their whole situation seems far-fetched. I just don't understand his sudden loyalty to her given everything that happened. I guess will make things interesting if/when she returns to being a hexenbiest, though.
Clearly I have spent way too much time thinking about this!

I love the early Grimms, also didn't love Juliette, and am surprised that Nick is so easily taking on Adaline but he wants to do right by baby Kelly.
I too keep thinking they are developing some new dynamic and it will get great again. I do REALLY miss the trailer and all its cool surprises. |
| Actually I really like Woo, and Rosalie and the Blutbad whose name escapes me. |
I agree, she was a weak character and had zero chemistry with Nick. They looked wrong together, had no mojo together, and I considered her increased role a big part of the reason the show started to slip. I didn't realize she was actually gone from the show; I figured she was just "dead" and about to make a comeback any time now. I'm glad she got the boot. But they have got to stop this Adalind/Nick thing; it's ridiculous and she needs to be bad again. I assume that will happen soon? I hope? |
THIS! One of the best parts of early Grimm was how imaginative the Wesen were, and the fairy-tale-esque storylines behind them, and their various forms of wickedness. Remember the spider episode? The little ugly guy who seduced women at the bar with him magic powder? The Hansel and Gretel episode? Now it's just a long, meandering, dull show with formulaic episodes and forgettable Wesen who all go for the throat. |
| The Adalind/Nick story line just seems so far-fetched based on their history. The show has developed a formula now in "let's introduce the wessen of the week!", but I do like that Wu has been added to the gang. |
| OK, now it's just painful. My most favoritest, bestest, must-watch show is so tedious, talky, and unmoored from its wildly creative fantasy-based beginnings that I wonder if the creator left the show and handed it off to some 20-something sci-fi hack. |

"I'm 'Eve' now. Because I'm starting over."
Woof |
| Agreed. The guy who plays Nick seems incapable of creating any kind of sexual chemistry with his female co stars. He is like a plank of wood. |
| Wow, I have missed A LOT. Anyone know of a place with good recaps? I don't think I can bear to actually watch the garbage it sounds like the recent shows have been, but I need to get updated! |
