| Uy, the decisions. White shaker cabinets. All pulls, all knobs or a mix? I'm so confused. |
|
I did knobs on cabinets and pulls on drawers, but really you can do whatever you like best. I know it gets confusing though when you have so many decisions to make.
|
| OP: Also, are Restoration Hardware type pulls/knobs really much nicer than ACE/Home Depot? On line it's hard to tell. (Except for the price...) |
| I have ikea ones and thought they look fine. |
|
Totally depends. There's not a set rule.
I went with all pulls on the top and bottom. I did test them out to make sure my belt loops wouldn't get caught, but they didn't. I have knobs in my bathroom that drive me absolutely insane. My blow dryer and straightener cords get caught on it daily. So knobs were a bad choice there. |

We have these pulls (in satin nickel) on our white shaker cabinets: https://www.topknobs.com/products/pulls/d-handle/m530-trunk-pull-3-3-4-inch-c-c.html.
For the drawers, we went with these cup pulls: https://www.topknobs.com/products/pulls/cup/m1298-dakota-cup-pull-2-9-16-inch-c-c.html I think they look nice and fit with our transitional style--neither super modern nor super traditional. |
| I'm the PP; here's a functional link for our cabinet pulls: https://www.topknobs.com/products/pulls/d-handle/m530-trunk-pull-3-3-4-inch-c-c.html |
thanks for this. re: size is it most typical to get pulls that are 5" or longer? just realized there are different sizes as well. |
Not pp, 3" is normal. 5"+ is nicer/fancier. |
|
I'm the pp who posted the link. We have 3 inch pulls and I think they look normal. I feel like the pulls we have would look odd if they were longer, but I've seen some of the more modern bar pulls in longer lengths.
If you go to a kitchen store they have displays where you can check out a bunch of different styles at once-might be worth doing if you want to see stuff in person. |
Yes, they are in a different league. Definitely worth it in the scheme of a kitchen renovation & that cost vs overall. |
|
They have a huge choice of knobs and pulls at Overstock.com for really good prices. I bought about 40 pulls for my cabinets for only $100 and the quality was amazing.
I put pulls on everything because I like how uniform it looks but you have a lot of versatility with white shaker cabinets. |
