Minimalist Tgiving Menu?

Anonymous
We will have 10 family members over this year. While I usually really enjoy hosting, I am just not feeling it this year. We are a low-key informal bunch, but do you think the below menu is not enough:

two big turkey bone-in turkey breasts (nobody eats the dark meat and I always have trouble getting it cooked)
enormous tray of apple and onion suffing
chipotle sweet potato mash
roasted brussel sprouts
green salad with cranberries and walnuts
gravy
cranberry sauce.

Will people revolt without the white mashed potatoes and green bean casserole?

That's their cure to host next year then!

Or you can have a box of instant masked potatoes and invite them to whip up their own in the kitchen.

That looks fabulous, BUT you really need to make mashed potatoes.

She has sweet mash.

OP, the menu looks fabulous and complete.

If money is no object, I'd buy 2 containers of Whole Foods Mashed Potatoes. It'll be close to $30, but they're delish!

Looks great OP. If you feel the need to cave on the mashed potatoes, then simply bake the sweet potatoes.

We never have mashed potatoes or green bean casserole. Looks great!

I think your menu sounds great; I am going to copy it! Do you have a recipe for cooking bone in breast turkey? And do you have to order it ahead of time?
Thanks!

I think it looks great. I'd be missing the traditional mashed potatoes, but it's not the end of the world.

Looks good and hardly minimalist. We dropped mashed potatoes several years ago when we stopped eating white flour and white potatoes. No one misses them.

Hope you are having some desserts!

This sounds lovely to me!

Mashed potatoes really complete the meal and they are so easy to make.

Can you assign mashed potatoes to someone coming?

The only thing missing is dessert, OP. I'd pick up a pie and some sorbet and call it a day.

I would be so sad if Thanksgiving didn't include mashed potatoes.
