Gift idea feedback

I'm looking for some feedback on gift ideas for my 12-year-old nieces and 15-year-old nephew. I'm thinking about personalized toiletry bags for the girls with some body wash or perfume in them. What fragrances are popular with tween girls? My nephew plays football and I am thinking about getting him a cell phone docking station shaped like a football. Would this be considered "lame" by an average 15-year-old boy?

I think most boys won't bother putting their cell phone in a docking station.

My DD is 12. She'd like a personalized toiletry bag in her favorite color. She loves stuff from Lush. I think she feels Bath & Body Works is okay but kind of for younger tweens. No perfume - she wants the smells from her shower to be what people smell on her.

I think the toiletries bag is a great idea -- but personally I would hate it if you gave my kid scented anything, as all that stuff triggers migraines in me and one of my kids -- so make sure you know whether it will be OK with the family to have scented stuff. I also remember from my own teen years how what seemed like a little perfume to me seemed like a gallon to my mom-- so what smells good in normal quantities might be overwhelming when applied enthusiastically by a preteen! There's a reason many schools ban scented body sprays and deodorants these days.

I don't think a football-shaped docking station for your nephew sounds like a great idea, honestly - I think that age is really hard to buy for. I would ask the parents what gift card he might like and go with that.

Does he have a favorite team? How about a jersey from his favorite team/player? Does he have a gaming system? He might like the newest Madden, I think a new one comes out every year. If he likes hats, also a snapback of his favorite team.

Anything UnderArmour is popular with kids that play sports. There are many options, hats, Tshirts, hoodies, compression leggings and shirts, gloves, etc.

Does he have an Ipod? Itunes giftcard and a cool pair of earbuds (skullcandy).

I'm pp, my ideas were all geared towards the boy. If that wasnt obvious. I have a 15 year old son but no daughters.
