Phone call from school about IEP meeting

So I received' a phone call from my DS school today about a Iep meeting on Monday at 9:30 AM. I was never aware that he had an IEP meeting this month. His last IEP meeting was on February. I called the school and ask and they said they never called me about an IEP meeting. So they might of deal the wrong number..... How often do they call the wrong person for the IEP Meeting?

My school never calls- lots of emails though! I'm sure it was just human error. it doesn't sound like they even mentioned the child's name, so I wouldn't worry about it.

+1 Only emails never phone calls about IEP meetings.

Not every family has email, and actually many families with kids who have IEPs or need IEPs don't respond to the emails (some never even participate in the meetings).

Sounds like a clerical error in which someone dialed the wrong family, but at least they are trying to get the parents in.

Every school does this differently, regarding phone call, email, formal letter or all of three - which is what we always get.

My DS had his 3 year review in May, then I got an email from the school in September that it was time to meet again, and I got the email one week before the scheduled meeting!

Probably nothing to panic over though.

They are required by law to give you written notice.
