Arlington Envious of Mosaic District

Anonymous
I was wondering where you were, Mosaic Booster!! We missed you. We've just had boring McLean Booster lately and you're much more fun. Welcome back!

p.s. Is that all you got?

Arlington just opened its own Moms grocery store so half way there.

Ballston is so depressing, no question there.

Arlington County Board just approved the new Ballston Quarter. The Quarter will be the new upscale shopping and dining district in Ballston.

What is that fugly new green building off Lee Highway in Arlington near the new MOM store? Is it an apartment building designed to look like an office building? An office building with lots of balconies? Whatever it is, it's just awful.

Actually that new apartment building looks nice. Modern architecture for once. The MOMs building on the other hand looks like some cheap suburban strip mall.

I don't care what you all say! You can pry this weirdly phallic yet metallic and seemingly lit from the inside sculptural homage to Ballston out of my cold dead hands.

Wait maybe that didn't come out right...

I work down the street from Mosaic and I'll have lunch there, but it's really no substitute for living in DC. NoVa at its best is still merely tolerable.

Yeah, it is weird the mix there, though the town homes seem ok. Mosaic Moms had a much nicer aesthetic with its wood beams and such.

Hahaha. Right....

Tell it to the Arlington officials who are bemoaning in the article how poor Ballston does compared to Mosaic.

Ballston sucks for sure, but it has one thing going for it - location. It's not stuck out in the middle of nowhere between industrial parks. Throw in a few decent shops and restaurants there and it will do well.
