| It's mostly because men don't stand up to their parents and side with their wives. Men continue to let parents dominate their lives. Women cut the ties much more easily and maintain boundaries. Or at least this is what I've noticed all around me. |

As a guy you may not be aware of the crazy female dynamics that are at play between the mother of the DH and the DW. There's a power struggle that often happens, generally in which the MIL still views herself as head of the family while DIL/DW has assumed that role.
Not sure why you are offended, however. |
