Blacks can't be racist

Anonymous
Ahhight Jeff I'm done for the day being brazen hope you saw through my Experiment in Obtuseness I'll refrain from taking it there in the future you know I respect what you got going on but in all sincerity while I respect the debates and discussions about race I think it's important for folks to remember that it all boils down to feelings. Feeling dismissed feeling dejected feeling denied feeling disrespected feeling dehumanized... Those emotions aren't easy to understand or empathize with unless people take into account the perspective of the person who is hurting.
In any case you my dawg sorry if I caused a ruckus much respect I'll keep it cool from here out.

I hear you. All of us go overboard from time to time.

I am a fan of history and have read a lot of history involving things like the Civil War and South Africa in which race was an obvious factor. A constant theme is the fear among the white population that if blacks are given rights, they will treat whites the same way whites had treated blacks. This same fear was very obvious when Obama was elected and many whites believed he would immediately begin rewarding black folks in the same way white Presidents were apparently expected to reward whites. Some peoples' biggest fear is that others will do to them what they do to others. Just on pragmatic grounds, it would help your cause if you did not give them justification for their fears.

Jeff have you read Rhian Malan's My Traitor's Heart? That is a life changing book, if ever there was one.

No, I haven't read it but it looks interesting. I'll try to read it. A good book for understanding race in the US is "The Warmth of Other Suns".
