Hard to find information about this school. Can anyone talk about their experience? Thanks!
We have had a wonderful experience it ONS so far. The teachers really get to know all of their students, and are passionate about what they do. My dd comes home so happy, and is always talking about how she loves school. They really do spend the majority of their day outside, and they learn a lot of things things through hands-on learning /exploration.
Thanks, PP. Is the day "structured" at all (i.e., is there a routine to the day) or do they just kind of wing it? I like the idea of the school and my toddler loves being outside so I think it would be a good fit but she also loves routines.
It's definitely not as tightly structured as other more traditional preschools, but they do have a schedule in terms of when they will be out in the yard, what time snack is, morning story, yoga etc. so far this year they have spent a lot of time outside, and what goes on there definitely varies day to day.
Our first two kids went to a local Bethesda (popular) preschool and while we were happy, when our third was lucky enough to get a spot at ONS we grabbed it. It is truly a special place. The only negatives I can think of: the schedule (like many local preschools) isn't ideal for dual working parents, unless you have a caregiver to fill in for the days off and shorter school days. This also isn't an ideal school for a parent who has certain expectations about serious math and reading prepping for Kindergarten. If you don't fit into either of those categories, than you should jump at the chance to send your child to ONS.

Does Outdoor Nursery School seriously still exist?! I went there and I'm over 50 now.
I loved it and I turned out great. !

Bumping for any recent feedback. Trying to decide between this and another Chevy Chase preschool.
