Curbside check in or gate check a carseat?

Anonymous
My husband really wants to check our car seat with our luggage, curbside. I am nervous that it will get banged around. Has anyone checked in with their luggage and has it been ok? Also the bag for our car seat got terrible reviews. Is their a universal bag that will protect the carseat so we can check curbside? Thanks!

How different is curbside really? There's still opportunity for it to get thrown around when it goes from jetway to tarmac to plane.

I may not make it on the plane or it may get lost if you curbside check it, this has happened to friends of mine.

If you are not using it on the plane then gate check it.

We always check it with luggage and have been fine (so far, knock on wood). I'm not worried about damage, but haven't consider it getting lost/delayed.

What carseat bag have you used to check it with your luggage?

Gate check. You never know if you are going to be bumped/something goes crazy, and you don't want to be stuck without a carseat if you have to leave the airport.

What bag do you use to gate check? I really am not sure what to get for our carseat. We have a convertible seat... Peg Perego Primo Viaggio. Any good universal bag.
