Daughter Starting Period -- TMI Can My PMS Symptoms Return even in Menopause?

Anonymous
I'll cut to the chase and while I"m at it apologize for TMI.

DD is showing every sign of getting ready to start her period. She's just turned 10, but she developed very early and we've had talks, practiced with supplies, etc.,. This past two weeks has brought on every possible 'your body's getting ready'. I, on the other hand, have been in menopause for five years (older first-time mom, lots of gyn problems including removing fallopian tube and one ovary, etc.). But for the past two weeks, I've felt like I was about to have a period all over again, topped off by discharge this morning (haven't had that in years). At the risk of TMI, other 'stuff' has been happening, too -- I haven't had to shave my legs in five years (major menopause bonus but suddenly hair growth has resumed, etc.,.

Has anyone else had or experienced anything like this? It's both fascinating and odd -- DD knows nothing about how I'm feeling, nor will she, for it's not relevant, but I certainly am curious whether there's any experience like this one in the DCUM repertoire.

TIA

Wow. I don't know the answer to your question, OP, but I do remember that in college, all of us on the second floor of the dorm seemed to have synchronized periods, so who knows?

I would suggest a trip to see the gynecologist, but I would hazard a guess that hormones are syncing. My mother, sister and I were all somewhat synced when I was in middle and high school, and I know that my grandmother (who was also menopausal) experienced some hormonal mood swings without needing to get supplies for herself (no idea about discharge, hair growth or anything else, and there's no way I would have asked!).

i would def get it checked at the gyn just to be sure. that geing said, the human body is amazing. when my young adult dd had an iud inserted, i swear i felt sympathy. cramps for weeks. ( her body had a hard time adjusting to it)
