I just realized, the less a school is talked about on this board, the better it probably is...

Piggy backing off of the "Name the Bottom 3" topic, which I think is appalling, it just occured to me if the parents on this board are any indication of the population at the "more desired" private schools, I'm glad the school we chose gets little to no conversation on this board. It hopefully means it's not populated with the arrogant, immaturity that seems to saturate this board.

I don't know if it means the school is of a higher quality, but I agree that schools mentioned less frequently are probably more pleasant places to be.

Just out of curiosity, OP, which school did you choose?
Anonymous
OP here. I'm not saying it's of higher quality than the others, but definitely just as good. But, I rather not put it out there for unnecessary bashing. I'll just say it's in the vicinity of Georgetown.

I agree with the previous poster. My DC will also attend a school within that vicinity. I couldn't be happier not see to the school's name bashed on these boards. Good luck to those who will be joining the so called TT schools mentioned on this board. Oftentimes seems like you may need it.

This is a stupid post.

OP, I'm afraid your logical reasoning is flawed. Or perhaps you just need to define and support "definitely just as good."

Looks like the OP touched on a few nerves. What about this post is stupid? Obviously, there is an overabundance of parents at certain schools that go on and on on this forum bashing the schools their kids don't go to. I'm glad someone pointed out the obvious.

Perhaps the OP already did define & support the comment for herself, thus selecting the school that they did. Just because it's not clear to you how the school could possibly be just as good as a so-called Top Tier school, doesn't make the reasoning flawed.

What's never been clear to me (given the whole anonymity thing) is how many of the bashers are parents at other private schools, and how many are parents with younger and/or public school kids who are weighing in. I mean, it's pretty rare that someone says, "well, you may like Sidwell, but MY kid is at St. Alban's and it's waaay better". Usually it's more like "three families I know in the entire DC area send their kids to _________ school and I can't stand any of them so the school must be awful".

If that's the case, then you would expect the amount an individual school gets bashed to correlate strongly with how high their public profile is, not how good or bad that school is.

New poster here. I think it's pretty stupid too. I live in G'town and I'm laughing wondering which school you are even talking about.

It's the mystery G'town school that is better than all others? ha.

Where did the OP say the school was better than all others? I believe the point was finding a school that is just as good in her opinion that hopefully doesn't come with all the obnoxious parents that sound off on these boards w/kids at more talked about schools. Thus, you proving her point w/your comments.

Visitation, Rumpelstiltskin, Field School, what a silly thread. OP sounds just as obnoxious as the parents she's whining about at TT schools.

None of the above...

It's the mystery school!

Well, congrats OP, you are now officially as obnoxious as all the people you are calling obnoxious!
