Waitlists: what was your original number and how far did it move?

Anonymous
I'm just looking for some realistic lottery data to inform my decisions for DD2. It seems like some schools' waitlists move much more than others. If you are still on a waitlist for any school, please say what grade, your original WL number, and how far up the list did you get? TIA!

Or, you can do your research and look at the database that has this info.

Waitlists moved like crazy this year because YY and MV both opened up nw classrooms. Last year I was 38 (I think - I can't remember for sure) on MV pk4 and never got a call or expected a call. this year they went above that. I would look at 2014 list movements for a more accurate picture. But it is really hard to predict because of siblings. And one in demand school opening another class can cause a cascade of waitlist movement that isn't typical.

NP here. Hey PP, you're an ass. And an ignorant ass at that. DCPS released round 2 data, DCPCSB didn't even do that. And no one releases the data that OP inquired about. Go away, trolly troll.

P.S. I hope you don't have kids. I don't want to live in a world where you are molding the youth of america.

OP here- thanks, PP. Yes, I have looked at the data that is available. The most recent charter school data is as of March 27. I'm interested in what happened after that, and I doubt I'm the only one.

The shocking thing for me is that our DCPS wait lists did not move an inch. We have been #1 on an EOTP bilingual since day one of lottery results, and never got a call.

CMI also had an extra classroom.

I don't think we will see movement like this again.

(And TR Young opened.)
I did notice that my DCPS barely moved while my "HRCS" (thanks DCUM for that) numbers moved by 30-40 spots each and up to 100 for Mundo Verde.

For PK3 we were in the 20s at Inspired teaching and move to #5...
At Creative Minds we were in the 50s and moved up to maybe 39.
At Lee Montessori we were top 10 and got in

Thanks, this is exactly the kind of information that people need.

We were #1 and #3 and got in at an EOTP school. In the 100+ at Mundo Verde, now in the 90s. Now in the 20's at Tyler, high teens at Powell. Low single digits at Marie Reed. Can not recall Bancroft.

Not you ECE kid. Take your emotional superiority and condescension and go play with your kids.
