Our child has been waitlisted #1 (for PK-4 in a DCPS) up until a couple of days ago and we've been very excited at the rumors that someone already enrolled is moving next month. As of yesterday however, she has dropped to #2. I called MySchoolDC and they said that someone who also was waitlisted moved in-boundary and therefore got bumped to the top of the waitlist. Is it possible that waitlists can change this late in the process? Application and enrollment period is over and I thought waitlist positions should not change.
Any advice from you experts? Thank you |
| I think you already spoke to the most knowledgeable experts. Unless you are also IB for this school it sounds like the process and rules are being followed. |
I agree, sounds like myschooldc is really on top of their game. |
| Yes, wait lists can change at any point when someone moved IB. |
| And to be honest, it's doubtful he school will accept an OOB on the WL. They make some magic for the new IB student which makes sense as the kid is definitely going to be in the school next year. |
| Yes, myschoolDC is right. I moved from #1 to #2 on my IB school waitlist for PK3, because another kid who was also inbounds with a siblings preference got on the waitlist at the beginning of the year, bumping me down further. It happens. |
