I am the mom of a 4 year old boy who runs everywhere! From the day he learned to run, it has been his speed of choice. Running down the hall to the dr's office, down the hallway to his classroom, etc. I am not complaining about this but I am just curious as to when this "need for speed" may end? I don't see say 10 year old boys running down the hallway to their dr or their classroom. I thought about signing him up for soccer since he has a huge amount of energy. |
yes, sign him up for sports to burn off all that energy, as for what age he'll stop... who knows? every child is different. some 6 year olds still have a hard time containing their energy. at least you get a workout too! ![]() |
![]() Sports sound like a great idea. |
As the mom of two boys who are older than OPs, I can tell you that trying to tire them won't help. They just don't tire and they are so excited to get everywhere that they can't help themselves. They have to run. I am not going to tell you how old mine are because they are still running everywhere and it would just depress you to know how much longer you are in for this behavior. And, this is not confined to boys. My youngest is a girl and she also runs everywhere. But, if you can look at it through their eyes and see even little glimpses of the excitement they see in even the mundane in life, you might find this very long stage easier to handle. |
