Antagonist-Vivelle Protocol-IVF

Anonymous
Has anyone been on this protocol recently, and would willing to share their experience? We are hoping to cycle in January/February and have begun the research and pricing of drugs, as well as watching the videos on how to prepare and inject the medicine. The videos made me anxious and while I know we will get through it, I am not looking forward to that first shot. Quite a journey we are about to embark, and I would appreciate any tips you can offer.

So far I have got the following: buy meds online from foreign pharmacy, ice the incision area, rest, eat pineapple and buy awesome socks. Anything else? ; ) I don't mean to sound trivial, but I am trying to keep an open mind, stay positive and "be" in the process as much as I can.

Thank you.

From my experience, variable antagonist schedule worked best for me (i.e., produced better quality eggs for IVF). Can you ask your RE if he/she is willing to administer antagonist with a variable schedule (i.e., wait until two ore more follicles are above approx. 15mm) instead of a fixed day schedule (i.e., start antagonist on day 6 of injection)?

OP, the injections are truly not a big deal, they are not hard and not that painful (honestly). I think it might be worse spending the next 3 months *thinking* about the injections than the process itself.

I totally freaked out when the box of meds arrived and started asking on the forum for a private nurse contact to do the injections. After the injection class I felt a lot more comfortable with the process and it wasn't bad at all.

Now, your ovaries slowly becoming the size of grapefruits, that's another story... it sucked

This protocol worked for me. Retrieved only 4 eggs of which 2 matured and were transferred . Got BFP on first cycle. Maybe just got lucky.
