Where can we ski dec 30-31?

Close enough to go for one night, but still will be open in December? The really close places like Liberty won't be open yet, right?
Family of six, all intermediate skiers, need childcare for youngest who is 2. |

| We go to Whitetail. Easy to get to, trails for all levels and they are typically open by Christmas. |

Liberty probably will be open, they have opened around Thanksgiving in recent years. The temps are dropping 20 degrees at least this weekend. That is progress for the ski resorts. |

Whitetail Liberty Masanutten I know masannuten is further but is it worth the extra drive? |

Check the websites regularly. I wanted to ski during the holidays the past two years and there wasn't enough snow to make it worth it. They may be open, but only a few runs and lifts will be open. Obviously if we get a ton of snow in December they'll probably be fully open, but if it's above freezing the runs will be limited.
I prefer Liberty over WhiteTail only because White Tail doesn't have alcohol and I like a libation apres ski!! Good luck and have fun! |

agree. Plus, WT has child care (you have to call and reserve though) . Easy drive, only 90 min. And not too crowded at that point either. |
