air bnb

Can someone describe this service to me? I assume it is similar to vrbo? Is there a reason when it is more useful to use one versus the other? Out family (including kids) plans to be in San Fran and/or Los Angeles in a couple of months, and I would like to book an apartment or house instead of a hotel room, for comfort factor, to be able to eat in, have friends come visit us, etc.

There really isn't much difference between the two as far as the service they provide, the only real variation is the people who choose to list. I think more house rentals are on VRBO, more rooms or apartments on AirBnB. I've had very good luck with both.

Also meant to add there seem to be more short term options on AirBnB whereas VRBO, the units are typically for longer periods of time (more full week rentals).

Yes, I would agree with this.
