I really don’t think a hoax is likely. Being on the campaign trail with all his rallies and adulating fans is key to his existence. He’s not going to give that up lightly, particularly being this close to the election and being so down in ALL the polls.

If he takes a turn for the worst, what will the Reps do in terms of the election?
Nominate somebody else (it would have to be done quickly), then get all 50 states to change/re-print all the ballots. All by Nov. 3. Yikes!

+1. THIS IS NOT DELAYING THE ELECTION. The Governor of Missouri died three weeks before the election and he was still on the ballot for Senate. And won.
