Married at First Sight DC

I read that post as a threat. This is a warning for those that want to protect their reputation and careers. Can’t imagine what this will do to Katie’s child therapist ambitions. These folks need to think real hard before exposing themself like this on tv, including Michael.

The DC season was just a mess. Season 9 was so much better, even Matt’s behavior seems tame now. DC is probably a difficult city to cast. Too many people with clearances to maintain.

In my opinion, these reality shows keep pushing the envelope and screening less, something bad is bound to happen - (including 90 day fiancé franchise).

Reminds me of The Dating Game when they had serial killer Rodney Alcala as one of the bachelors. He was chosen by the bachelorette but she refused to go out with him because he just seemed too strange; she could have lost her life.

There have been multiple suicides of UK reality tv participants (Love Island, Jeremy Kyle Show). The UK government has tentatively started to look into this (the following link comes even before Caroline Flack's suicide): https://www.parliament.uk/business/committees/committees-a-z/commons-select/digital-culture-media-and-sport-committee/news/reality-tv-inquiry-launch-17-19/

Yes, I believe something bad is going to happen to one of these unstable people who are being exploited for entertainment, then cut loose to cope with the aftermath alone. I'm the poster who expressed concern about Michael. I think that if something happens to him that is mental-health related after the show, the producers are absolutely responsible.

Many 90 day participants have mental health issues, too, I think.

This kind of tv is just wrong. It makes me think of The Truman Show. We're heading in a terrible direction, really no better than tossing some prisoners to the lions for entertainment.

Now I think Katie is the one who might be in the most precarious position now, not Michael.

On the reddit MAFS, Derek's roommate appeared, and is doing an AMA to get revenge on Katie for cutting him and his roommates off from her Hulu account.

And then Katie announced herself in the thread! And you can see by her username that she has been defending herself in the third person on MAFS threads for the past three months.

Yes, they need to screen people better and offer appropriate therapeutic support after the show ends if someone seems to be unraveling.

She also cancelled the Reddit AMA she was scheduled to do yesterday.

Late response (I'm just now watching the DC season): They lived in the Instrata.

I got my dress at Ellies!

Thoughts: I actually think this year's pairings are better than last. But the one who has a boyfriend she's pining over shouldn't be allowed to be getting married. I know it's good TV but not at all fair to the guy. Also she's 25! Way too young. And, the scientist getting her PhD married to the beer salesman seems like a bad idea.

There aren't the same options among black men as there are in other races, so if a black woman wants to marry a black man she may have to be with someone who doesn't have the same educational or other accomplishments.

That you are insinuating there aren’t accomplished educated black men is atrocious.

DP. I think maybe PP misspoke a tad? I am a black woman and it is simply a fact that there are not as many black men with the same educational accomplishments as black women. Statistically at most predominately white colleges there are 2:1 black women to black men and at HBCUs it’s 8:1. Black women also earn more on average. Also add to that that black men marry outside of their race with greater frequency than black women and it means there can be a lot of competition.

Thank you for being the voice of reason here and citing actual facts.

You shut down hysterical Karen who loves to virtue signal by finding racism anywhere and everywhere , even where it does not exist.

I don’t think you understand what “hysterical” or “Karen” means.
