It shows there is process and thought to hold aside spaces in case there is bigger IB enrollment and then to fill the spaces after the first round of the lottery - which is basically all it shows. The 6th grade class is around 130 kids, reports are around 40-50 are IB/feeder. The point above was that Principal Pride needs to be able to balance the lottery with an unknown quantity of kids who will actually be attending from feeders (starting with the 'any possibility of intent to enroll' forms that are distributed to the feeder parents). [not next year, but year after, there will be a 5th feeder - Eaton]. |
There are kids at Deal whose families really live in MD. How does that work? |
no, chill out. I am talking about families who live IB for Hardy and either lottery into a Deal feeder for 5th or rent out their house, live IB for Deal for the three years, and then move back home for high school whether it is Wilson or SWW or wherever. I don't know how many people overall do this but I know firsthand that some do and no-one will bother with that hassle after Hardy improves. I am betting it's already less common. |
I've only ever heard of few/couple of these instances. It's a huge hassle on the families |
