Are you familiar with hospital swaddle blankets? They are standard. All newborns are wrapped in them. |
According to the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP), hospital blankets are safe for swaddling to keep newborns warm, but they are not safe for loose use in a crib. The baby was not in a crib and was also being supervised. |
The baby was crying alone when Santos went in. Crib or bassinet, the baby should be saddled or no blanket. |
I admit I’m waiting for some kind of test in this story. No idea what but a straightforward, tragic death does not seem to be the best narrative outcome. |
She’s so robotic I actually looked her up on IMDb to see if she had been on a Star Trek show. |
Twist, not test. |
A bar crawl on the Fouth? Bars do those on otherwise slow weekends, not on days like the Fourth. In any case, they'd just be getting started at two. |
| Swaddle blanket is only allowed if it is tight. This blanket was draped lightly around the baby |
NP-I absolutely caught the bar crawl reference and laughed. No one is doing a morning bar crawl on July 4. March 17? Sure. Very accurate. Independence Day? Not so much. But whatever. Gotta keep the plot moving and set up a scene where Garcia can scowl judgmentally at Dr. Langdon as he monitors the tongue stitches. |
Ha! Have you ever met any of the people who are going to medical school these days? Oh boy, are people going to hate their doctors in 10 years! |

My fam is in Pittsburgh and there is lots of day drinking on the 4th. There is usually a Pirates game starting midday, and bars near there will open early (like 10am) for the baseball crowd. There's also the casino, tiki bar cruises, and the Strip starts getting very busy early because people want to do brunch/lunch early enough that they can get to their planned destination for the evening by 4 or 5. North Shore (best fireworks views) stuff starts around 4 I think.
The two women who came in with the tongue thing also obviously had alcohol problems. Easy to imagine seeing them stumbling around at noon, already wasted, and bars asking them to leave because they were such a mess. I don't think those characters were meant to be representative of the city's drinking habits on the 4th. But it is definitely easy for people who want to drink in the am on the 4th to do so. |

If I had never seen this show before and just read this thread, I would assume it was trash. I get that there are some plot devices on the show but why is every other post just trashing it? This is one of the best shows on TV right now.
Also I happen to also be watching Better Call Saul right now. It's also really good. But it also has weird plot devices and plenty of unrealistic details. But if I was discussing the show with people, I'd obviously focus on the compelling plot and great performances, not whether it's really realistic that someone would be able to purchase houses on either side of the same street and then put a tunnel connecting them under the public street between, because that's fairly ludicrous. Sometime good TV asks you to suspend your disbelief and I'm okay with that. |
You mean Santos. |
Again baby was not in a crib and was being supervised: Santos rewrapped her. Baby was on her back on the blanket and she pulled each side up around her like a swaddle. Also, baby is older so may not need a tighter swaddle at this age. |
| I really like Garcia. I want more of her. Javadi’s storyline seems to be going nowhere. |
