What is your first graders homework like?

| DS started getting simple math worksheets Monday-Thursday after about the 3rd week (?) of school. Then a few weeks later started books to take home and read to us, and now is getting word sorts and related word decoding "games". It has built up into a solid half hour of homework most nights if you include the reading, plus separately there is all the reading of books he actually enjoys that we do on our own. He gets through most of the math pretty quickly and it does seem to be a real review, not new work (which is what homework is supposed to be). |

A choose your assignment. There are 10 choices. All must be done in 2 weeks A word study thing (review)with spelling test on wed Request to do reflex math. Self directed. Non specific Request to read Request to redo any class work not completed or wrong from weekly Friday folder If we actually do all this its @ an hour a night |
