Family friendly hotel in Fort Lauderdale

Looking for a short relaxing vacation in Florida (as baby does not have a passport) - does anyone have a recommendation for a family and kid friendly hotel in Fort Lauderdale that they have personally stayed in?

We stayed here about four years ago; it is on a quiet strip of beach in FLL. I am not sure if it is as nice now as when we visited but we really enjoyed our stay.

Another vote for Lago Mar. DH and I were there for a few days seven years ago. At the time, we loved it!! Ask for a room facing south (if you have an oceanview room) and you can watch the cargo and cruise ships going in and out of the inlet.
