DH and cigars

Anonymous
Anyone's DH smoke cigars? Mine smokes about two a month. How nervous should I be?

Mine smokes them from time to time when the weather is nice and he can sit outside. As long as he's not smoking on a regular basis, I'm not worried about it.

Once a week or so. Mainly at fundraising events but sometimes we go to shelly's or bayou room together.

Anything in moderation is good for you.

Same with mine. He also smokes the occasional cigarette. I don't like either one but am OK with it at about once a week or less.

No. Cigars in moderation might not be a death sentence, but they are definitely not affirmatively good for you.

TBH, my DH seems so much less stressed after he smokes one I'm not so sure.

Two a month does not sound like a problem. But I HATE the way they smell and would not allow them in the house or car.

Does he just puff on them or does he actually inhale? If he's just puffing he's probably not getting that much smoke into his lungs. But if he's inhaling and holding the smoke in (like if he was smoking a joint) then I'd be a bit worried.

Mine does. I don't care as long as he changes his clothes, washes his hands, brushes his teeth and uses mouthwash after because the smell is overwhelming. As for his health ? It's his body and I'm not his mother. He's grown. He can make that call himself.

To those PPs whose husbands smoke, does he in front of your DC? At what age?

Horrid. Make life insurance up to date.

Mine does. I didn't mind too much when we were newlyweds (it was less frequent), but it has become a pet-peeve of mine now that it has become so frequent (almost daily). He smokes outside after DS goes to bed, and like the 15:50 PP said he changes clothes, showers, etc. I'm convinced he will get cancer when we're older, and I don't like it, but as another PP said he is grown so I feel there's nothing I can do.

That doesn't matter. People who smoke cigars can still get cancer on their throat or tongue. No need to inhale.

My dad only smoked cigars, not sure how many, but up to a box a month. He died of lung cancer probably from his own second hand smoke.
