Is my job allowed to do this to me?

So I work at this place as a vendor. Sometimes I would stay at the same location all day, other times I have to travel to location to location. Well Last week I had to go to two different location. one in Woodbridge and the other one in Alexandria. Took me about 40 mins to get there. When I enter my time to get paid they told me Why There was a different time between my hours worked and the hours on the assignments, so according to them I shoulndn't be getting paid when I am traveling location to location is this legal?

I believe your job isn't supposed to pay you to GET to your initial location, but once you're traveling in the course of your day of work, you are supposed to get paid for that time.

You should also be paid per mile for gas and car use.

Today I told the guy that I am not going back to work, I quit. He can fire me if he wants. I know I am talking about getting paid to go to work. I am talking about traveling from location to location.

so, you work for Service, Inc, but onsite at Widgets, Inc which has multiple locations that you are required to travel between?

You submitted your hours to Service, Inc and they are trying to decline your compensation for your travel?

Doesn't seem proper to me...

If you are at one site and they send you to the other, they pay for your time. If today, they tell you to report to the other site tomorrow, you are not paid for whatever time it takes you to get to work in the morning.

Yes, and I am okay with not getting gas money because I knew about it before I was hired. I get paid .35 cents after 50 miles of traveling. But I am not okay that I have to sign out when I leave a location and sign back in when I am at the other location. in Theory I can only get paid while I am collecting the data they need. Example If getting the prices for sodas, and I have to move ales for Diapers I shouldn't be getting paid BUT I still get paid for that.

It depends on the contract. Typically in the contracts I draft, there is a hourly rate for work, and a hourly rate for travel.

And you see they are smart. My job is in "Richmond Virginia" EVEN tho I Live in Maryland, and most my jobs are in Maryland. The reason they do this is because is Virginia is not a Union State is a Right to Work state, so they can get away with many rules

A union has nothing to do with this. Travel time is covered under the FLSA. I'm going to go out on a limb and guess the OP is non-exempt.
