| Had a narutal miscarriage at around 8 weeks starting 30 days ago(lasted about 8 days, a bit longer than my normal period). My cycles are usually 31-33 days and my periods are around 5 days long. When can I expect my period to start? I want it to come so badly so we can start TTC again. I would expect it to come in the next day or two normally but I have no PMS symptoms (sore boobs, cramps) so I don't think it is coming. I also have no pregnancy symptoms (I had them really badly when I conceived last time) and a negative pregnancy test so I am not pregnant. Sorry... TMI but just so disappointed and want to start trying again. I am 32.5. |

Hi, OP. So sorry for your loss. Returning periods post-miscarriage are different for everyone. If you miscarried at 8 weeks, it's likely that your body is still processing the miscarriage and that the HCG level in your system is high enough that ovulation has not yet been triggered. Have you been temping/charting your cycles? That could give you a clue as to when to expect your period. Otherwise, just give it a little more time. If you haven't had a period a month from now and/or you're having odd symptoms (strange bleeding, cramping, etc), go to your doctor to ensure you had a complete miscarriage and that everything looks okay.
Wishing you all the best. |

I never got a period after my miscarriage in January. I took home tests and even went to the doctor but they all came back negative until March. I'm due next week. Maybe (hopefully) you're pregnant and it's just too early to detect.
Good luck. |
| Small point for a pp but it's not hcg that prevents new ovulation, it's progesterone. For an 8 week miscarriage you might still have some waiting to do for your next period. Maybe another week or so. I'm sorry for your loss. |

I'm sorry, OP. It sounds like it's very individual. For my miscarriage at 10 weeks, I got my period 35 days later. I am not sure I ovulated that cycle, though, and the period was very light. And that was 4 months ago and I'm still not pregnant despite trying every cycle.
I'd say if you don't get it back in another 2-3 weeks, check in with your doctor. You could also try fertility acupuncture to jump start it -- that's what I've decided to try to regulate my cycle. I haven't been at it yet long enough to know if it works, though. |
| I've had two miscarriages - one at 6 weeks and one at 10, both times my period came around 35-36 days later (both were D&C's) and were fairly light. |
