Roofing Company Estimates

| We need a new roof on our town home. A company came out today and gave an estimate and I have another one coming tomorrow. There are a few more that I'd like to call, but several of them require a $85.00 fee for the inspection/estimate (which they say will be applied towards the project if hired). I always thought that estimates will be free. Is this a new practice? |

| DON'T USE WAGNER ROOFING! They completely replace our old roof then when it leaked (I have video) they would NOT stand behind their work and I had to either sue them or pay a different company to repair. We chose not to sue. |

| We had our roof replaced last year. We got three estimates and none charged us for the estimated. |

| Thanks! We had a company come out today who did not charge and I liked them and their estimate was fair (IMO). We have two more companies coming out this week. |

| In Falls Church, we had estimates from Pond Roofing, St. Joseph's Roofing and Furr Roofing. All free. Went with St. Joseph's and were happy. |

| Got free estimates from Springfield Roofing and Unicorp. Did the roof with Springfield, and the windows with Unicorp. Happy with both. |

| We used Unicorp too for windows, and will do the roof and siding with them when the time comes. Great company. |

We loved Tom Petrilli of Lyons Contracting. He gives free estimates and is FANTASTIC. He's based out of Alexandria.

| we've used Roof Solutons twice and they never charged for estimates. i find roofing companies to a be a bit rough around the edges, in fact two places said they wouldn't even come out to give an estimate unless I promised to use themm. What? I felt like I was on candid camera! |

| We got quote from 3 over the summer and none charged for them. We ended up going with the same company who did our previous house (we just wanted to make sure the costs were still in line). They are very popular in our neighborhood. |

| Thanks everyone! I called Lyons and St. Joseph's today and they are coming out for an estimate. Will go from there. |
