Help! Anyone know of an inexpensive Divorce Attorney?

Hello everyone,

I need help for my parents who are getting divorced after 30 years of marriage.

I would like to know where I can find an affordable divorce lawyer.

Briefly, my mom has always been a stay at home mom, she raised 3 of us and took care of the house.We have also watched her tolerate alot of verbal abuse for all these years. We visited during easter and we realised that their relationship was no longer worth it!!!(we are saving the details)
My dad is a wonderful father but has decided that he is in love with someone else, so he wants out!!!

My mom cant afford to pay $300 per hour as the lawyer we approached asked.
Is there any lawyer out there that will take $5000 or less?

We would like my mom to get atleast half of the marital property because we feel that she deserves it after 30 years of marriage plus 3 grown children.

Try Craigslist for affordable divorce attorney's or look up law school in the area, they usually have probono clinics.

Nope, dont know any! they are all a bunch a greedy money-mongers!!!!!especially in the DC area.

I dont know the rules in DC but in FL (where my dad is an atty who does divorce work), the weathier side pays all atty fees for both parties, in which case your mom's fees would get paid. You should look into that.
