Infertility Support and Discussion
|
I experienced a misscarriage October 2008. The with SGFC completed my first IUI in January. We found out that it was an e- pregnancy in February and I was give one dose of methotrexate at the end of February. I am anxious for us to move on to IVF which would appear to be the next step for us, however, my HCG level has not returned to 0 as yet. As of this week it was 20.7- so definitely must lower than when it was when I was given the meth shot at 1800. Has anyone had experience with this? How long does it take for your body to return to normal? How long does it take for your HCG level to return to 0? Any help would be great.

I'm sorry. I'm not sure about the drug you took, but I took something when I had a miscarriage and I ended up bleeding on and off for 8 weeks. I started trying after, and conceived my child four months later. Good luck to you.
I had an e-pregnancy in early April 2009. I had 2 doses of methotrexate, one week apart. My HCG as of the 2nd dose was about 4,500. Last week, about 5 weeks after the first dose it was about 7.5. The doctor said it "should be 0 this week" - I can let you know.
Took me 5 weeks to get to 0 after one shot of MTX. On week 6 now though and no sign of a period coming.
I had an e-pregnancy in May 2010. They gave me two methotrexate shots. Neither worked and I had to end up having emergency D&C and Laproscopy. They removed my right tube. I still have not started. IVF is our next option because the risk of another e-pregnancy with IUI is much greater (or so I'm told). I am meeting with our doc at SG to discuss options. They may put me on BC pills to jump start my cycle. Will know more Wednesday. I did ask my RN would I would start my new cycle and she told me that everybody is different and reacts different. It could be weeks or months. Not encouraging I know, but try and stay positive.
Poster 10:19 here again... I forgot to mention that it took me 4 weeks to get back to "0".
