Benjamin Moore White Paint Color Recommendation

Anonymous
I'm going to paint 2 bedrooms in my condo that I will be selling soon. Last week the Washington Post Local Living Section recommended a Benjamin Moore white paint color but I can't remember the name of the paint color and I can't find the article online. Did anyone see that article or can you recommend a white that doesn't look "cold". Thanks!

I didn't see the article, but we like White Dove. Slightly warmer than pure white.

White Dove is a pale cream. Cloud White is a warm off-white.

I'm impressed that a landlord would spring for BM.

Eeehh, unfortunately the only way to pick a white is to bring in paint chips to your house. If you're worried enough about picking the right one that you're putting some research into it (i.e. you didn't just buy "white paint" and be done with it), then it will not suffice to take decorators' random online picks for white paints. I know this from experience. What is the "absolute, universally approved" choice for white looks like a light purple/grey in my house. What was the absolute, best, favorite grey in the world looks like a 1980s hospital blue in my house. How a color looks will depend on: the existing ceiling and trim color, the existing floor color (we painted our house with a crisp white years ago, before refinishing the yellow oak floors - the paint looked yellow, until the floors were changed - then the walls totally changed color against the new floors), your kitchen colors, the type of light you get, the colors outside your window. Just get paint chips and you will have far more success than randomly picking something based on recommendations.

Was this the article?

That's the article -- thanks!

We use Linen White but that definitely has a cream/yellow base. It looks great with reds and blues.

Agree! Maybe you want to do a neutral like greige instead.

Neutral white for rental - Sherwin Williams Shell White

Neutral gray for rental - BM Edgemoore Gray

Both are updated and go with contemporary and traditional stuff/architecture.

Bright untainted white trim for both.

Oh OP, it's not often when I see a question that I can really help on! Our walls are BM's Cream Froth. I tried out four different shades (big test areas) each on two facing walls, and this was the most lucious, gorgeous one. I've got the (ok, spacing out here but the decorative "baseboards" at the top of the wall/ceiling in Superwhite (with some gloss on it but not full on) and the ceiling in a flat superwhite. Beautiful, bright, airy, not sterile.
