This is specific to holiday decorating, so not sure if I'm putting this in the appropriate place, but... does anyone have Pottery Barn Christmas stockings? Are they pretty nice or do they feel cheap? Just want to make sure they're worth the money before ordering. Any other suggestions for purchasing new stockings are welcome. |
Yes, they are nice quality and last. At least the ones they were selling a decade ago! |
Check these out
http://www.personalcreations.com/christmas?sk=&ref=PCRorganicgglunkwn&prid=pcseogu&tile=hmpg_hero1 Nearly everything is 5 star rated and from what I've purchased in the past, the ratings are legit. I have yet to be disappointed. |
You could also just buy stockings and take them someplace to get embroidered. I just did this with a pottery barn kids anywhere chair to avoid paying shipping fees. |
I bought mine at Company Store. Excellent quality. Garnet Hill also sells nice ones. One of my kids has one from Personal Creations and though I'm not crazy about it, the quality is good. |
We have 4 of the velvet-feeling ones from PB and they are nice! |
I got a personalized PB kids stocking for my son almost 5 years ago and it's held up well. The detailing is very nice! |
We like the ones from Horchow. |
We have the pottery Barn velvet stockings and they are very nice. |
We have one from Pottery Barn for my daughter and it's really nice. Ours are cheapo, and I've been wanting to replace them with coordinating stockings from PB. |
Just make sure they are big enough and flexible enough for the amount and type of things you usually put in stockings. I tend to like the more flexible (sweater style or fleece or other flexible fabric) stockings because we focus a lot on stocking presents in my family, especially as we only do Secret Santas for adult family members with stocking gifts rather than tree gifts.
I love browsing Etsy for handmade stockings. Granted there is a lot of amateur crap on there but there are also many beautiful and hand-crafted in the USA choices. All the PB, etc. tend to be made in China. |
I bought these about 10 years ago and added more when our family expanded. They're really nice. Some of the designs are a little kitchy and country, but the more traditional ones are really nice and have held up beautifully.
