I love a Burberry trench but why is this SO LONG? Is it like the black tie version? I've never seen one longer than calf-length, and it looks terrible. Mid calf would have been fine.

She's trying very hard to support her husband- wearing a floor-length version, perhaps to mirror his extra-long tie. Her purple hat matched the exact color of his tie too!!!

With Charles and Camilla, there's a blue theme going on. Melania's suit reads as very dark blue in this photo, Trump's is clearly navy, and then Chuck and Cam in lighter shades:



The hat though, OMG the hat. I think Melania just really loves this look, loves being able to shield half her face from cameras at an official event, and also probably likes trolling people. If her husband wasn't the worst thing to happen to American politics, I would find her amusing.

The hat is NOT good. And for some reason she kept it on inside, even though all of the royal ladies took theirs off. It looks even more ridiculous indoors.

Just curious... Are women expected to take their hats off indoors in the UK? Is there any royal protocol about when they can keep them on or need to remove them?

Hats must be removed after 6 pm. Not sure what time these pics were taken.
Also, if the queen and princess have removed theirs, she should have followed suit. This is a faux pas.
She looked hideous in it on Jan 20, and must be aware. Why wear it again and refuse to remove it and cause offense? And god that suit is ugly.

Melania’s suit is made of gorgeous fabric - same for the hat. But the fit is horrendous. I don’t get it, her whole life is shopping and spa crap. I assume she does not accept her lil menopot. Camilla is way shorter and heavier and has a large bust and she looks ten times better coiffed and tailored. Kamala Harris is also a short stack with a large bust and her clothes always, always fit her. Melania should be acing the assignment all of the time but she fails more than she hits.
