Where to get new barstools?

Our barstools are in bad shape and need to be replaced. We got a price quote to reupholster each of them that was only a bit below the price we originally paid. Places like Pottery Barn are more than I'd like to spend although I like the look. Ideally we're looking at wood with cloth or leather seats, and they need to have backs.

Any recommendations on where to look?

I got some at Ethan Allen; they are great! (too bad I just moved to CA, now they are in the garage)

But I also recall that the catalog Ballard Designs has them…

re the cushioned ones, I haven't looked but try Thomasville Furnishings (furniture). They have some really nice things; well-made. Also I *think* they have an outlet that might be driving distance.

Got 2 sets of two on Amazon - very comfortable, leather, easy to clean, retro.
