Matilda at the Kennedy Center?

Any thoughts about this show for a 5 year old boy and 6 year old boy? Both love musicals and don't have any problems sitting through children's shows at Imagination Stage. However, I've read that Matilda is a little dark and scary.

my 5 and 7 year olds loved it.

Read the book with them and see if they like it. It's always better if you read the book first.

My 7 yo (who is pretty sophisticated and not easily scared) loved it AND found it terrifying. It's very intense.

+1 for my 6 & 8 year olds. It is a very intense story. I would definitely read the book with them first. It's pretty dark.
