I am thinking of private school for my 2 children (elementary). I have been to a couple of open houses. Does anyone have info on Christ Episcopal in Rockville? I can't find much info on the website. How big is the school? Why is there an "interim head"? Other than that, seems most of the schools are still taking applications, even after the deadline. |
I toured that school in February and was super-impressed. Granted, I have "not" toured any of the big threes or whatever people call them on here. I am interested in a smaller setting. CES has about 250 students, K-8. I believe they are expanding their preschool to take 2 year olds, but not sure about that. They are also looking to expand to about 400 students in the future, with two classrooms for each grade.
I don't know why they've got an interim head. The prior head mistress retired last summer. Perhaps they are taking their time to recruit instead of rushing it through this school year. ? They are nationally and locally accredited, which I had trouble finding at other schools of similar size. Their high school placements for the class of 2008 were: Academy of the Holy Cross Connelly School of the Holy Child Georgetown Preparatory School Glenelg Country School Landon School Maret School Our Lady of Good Counsel High School Poolesville High School Magnet Humanities Program Poolesville High School Global Ecology Studies Program Poolesville High School Advanced Engineering Academy Richard Montgomery High School International Baccalaureate Program St. Albans School St. Andrew’s Episcopal School St. John’s College High School Sandy Spring Friends School Stone Ridge School of the Sacred Heart Thomas S. Wootton High School Signature Humanities and Arts Program |
I did not like it when I toured. I had some friends who put their dd there, and they were not impressed. They had an inexperienced K teacher. |
